KEEPING UP WITH THE COURTIER-JONESES

January saw some ups and downs for Team Jazz – the sweet and crunchy taste of victory filled the mouths of many of the team, but unfortunately the bitter pill of injury had also to be swallowed.

As of the 29th of January Lewis Courtier-Jones has risen to second in the British snowboard rankings and 82nd in the world!  It cannot be emphasized how much of an achievement this is for someone so young.  This kid is board silly.  Lewis, we salute you.

Kitty Wallace competed in the final round of the SIBL (Southern Indoor Bouldering League) on Feb 15th.  There had been 4 previous rounds and Kitty had ascended new heights by winning them all.  True to form Kitty clawed her way to victory, cementing her place as the boulderer to beat this year.

February also saw Tim Linsell take to the waters with his new Jazz sail.  Tim is currently in training for the Youth Nationals in April.  With steely determination, a sharp, nautical mind and now Jazz Apples helping to fill his sails great success is surely just over the watery horizon.  Tally ho Tim!

Our cyclists, Gabriella Shaw and Chris Whorrall, are putting in the pedal hours in anticipation of the cycling season beginning in Spring.  As both Hoy and Pendleton have suffered nasty crashes recently Team Jazz would like to take this opportunity to warn Gabby and Chris to be careful – especially in this weather and wish them all the best for the coming season.

Finally, Team Jazz sends its best wishes out to Martin Morgan who has suffered a setback to his sporting year as he sustained an injury to his back.  Everybody here at TJ towers wishes Martin a swift and complete recovery.
