Here at Jazz HQ we like to think that we know a great deal about apples. They are our business after all. So this month we decided to dazzle you with our top ten facts about apples and challenge you to find the red herring amongst them.

1. Richard Branson created Apple.
2. The apple did not hit Newton in the head. It’s only while looking at an apple falling on the ground that Newton found the gravity theory. (It was a green apple called the Flower of Kent)
3. The Adam’s apple comes from a popular idea that when Adam swallowed the fruit, it got stuck in his throat.
4. The apple is the most consumed fruit in France, the UK, the USA and Germany.
5. Ahrita Frutman holds the world record for bobbing apples: On the 19th of February 2008, he bobbed 33 apples in a minute.
6. The largest apple in the world was found in 2005 in Japan. It weighed 4 pounds one ounce.
7. The world’s largest apple pie was made in Washington in 1997. It weighed about 17 tons.
8. There are 7500 varieties of apples in the world.
9. 36 apples are necessary to create just one gallon of cider.
10. Jazz Apples are the most delicious apples on the planet.
