Beth’s Sensational Sausage Rolls

Jazz fanatic Beth from Holmfirth has sent us her brilliant recipe for her favourite lunchtime treat- a Jazz Sausage roll! Beth told us that the added Jazz apple helps to keep the sausage rolls moist and juicy with a hint of sweetness. Give them a try!
Ingredients
250g best sausage meat
300g pre made roll of puff pastry
1 Jazz Apple
1 egg
Salt and pepper
Method
Break up the sausage meat in a bowl with a fork, then grate in the apple, including skin.
Season well with salt and pepper then mix to combine.
Unroll the pastry and place the sausage meat in the middle, shaping with your hands so you have a long strip of sausage meat all the way down the length of the pastry.
Bring one side of the pastry over towards you and then roll the other side back over. Roll the whole thing over a few times to make a nice round shape.
Crack the egg in a small bowl and whisk.
Keeping the seam on top, brush over the egg with a pastry brush and around edges.
Season the top liberally with salt and a little pepper.
Cook for 25-30 on 180 C until the pastry is browned and puffed up.
