Helen Glover – Age 23, Rowing
A talented all round athlete, Helen first shot to sport stardom in athletics competing at an international level in cross-country. Spotting her natural ability and talent, she was recruited into the World Class Start Programme and switched events to become a rower. After just three months rowing, Helen won her first singles race at the Reading National Regatta, an incredible achievement. Moving to Bath to help her training, Helen now trains full time with the GB rowing coach and is pushing herself to achieve Olympic Gold in 2012.

Success came in floods this year for rower Helen Glover with gold in the Single Sculls at Women’s Henley and a team gold in the Quad Sculls at the national championships in Nottingham.
